It's time to showcase your Baigup Wetlands themed artwork.

Entries close on Sunday 18 June for the inaugural Baigup Wetlands inspired art exhibition - Creative by Nature.

Baigup Wetlands Interest Group is holding a community exhibition of site-specific artworks that reveal the significance of Baigup Wetlands and examine the relationship between nature and art. We're inviting you to submit paintings, drawings, prints, sculpture, photography, textiles, or audio visual pieces based specifically on Baigup Wetlands. You are invited to create works, or submit existing works for our exhibition. The following guidelines apply:

HOW TO ENTER

Entry deadline

📷 Photos of entries are to be submitted via the online form (below) by no later than midnight on Sunday, 18th of June.

Commission

💸 All artworks must be for sale – A 15% commission is applicable on all sales which will go to Ellis House Arts Centre.

Entry fee

🎨 A $5, per artwork, fee is to be paid to Ellis House Arts Centre which will be collected when the artworks are dropped off between 4-6pm on Sunday 25th June.

If submitting via email you will need to include: artist name, title of artwork, medium, size in cm and price.

Number of artworks

You may enter more than one artwork, we suggest artworks are no wider than 1.5m as we don't have room for many large pieces.  Be mindful that as we have limited hanging space priority will be given to early artwork entries. If this is an issue please contact info@baigupwetlands.org to discuss.

WHO CAN ENTER?

Current financial members of Ellis House Art Centre (EHAC) are automatically eligible to exhibit. You may become a member of EHAC for a fee of $40 per annum. Provision has been made, by Baigup Wetlands Interest Group, for artists, who wish to participate but are not current EHAC members. There's a spot on the entry form to let us know.

ENTRY SUBMISSIONS

Drop-off time:

🚗 Entries are to be brought to Ellis House Art Centre between 4-6pm on Sunday 25th June.

Please note - don't bring artworks earlier because there's nowhere to store your work.

Originality

All entries submitted to the art exhibition must be original artworks created by the participating artists. Originality is highly valued in our exhibition, and we encourage artists to showcase their unique artistic vision and creativity. If an artwork is based on a photograph, it is essential that the artist obtains the necessary permissions and rights from the copyright holder before submitting the artwork. Artists are responsible for ensuring that their artworks do not infringe upon any copyright laws.

Label your work:

Artworks must be clearly and securely labelled on the back (artist, title, price).

Ready to hang:

🖼️ Framed photographs, artworks, and works on canvas, must be ready to hang. Attach D or A hooks to the frame at about a third of the way down from the top of the artwork. Use quality hanging cord, stretch it firmly, and secure with a non-slip knot to one side. DO NOT use eyelets, wire, string or fishing line.
